North Bar & Kitchen Leicester
The award-winning restaurant openly welcomed an exclusive guest list to an evening of gastronomy at their Hinckley Road, Leicester premises.
The guests were greeted with smiles and a Burleigh’s Gin and watermelon cocktail as they took their seats in the restaurant. A brief introduction was made by co-owner Sally Davis to explain the ethos of the venue and what diners could expect from the night ahead, as well as an explanation of why each beverage had been chosen to accompany each course.
The six-course menu started with a field mushroom veloute with pickled shimejis paired with a South African Chenin Blanc. Our managing director’s particular standout dish was a risotto of sweetcorn with sorrel. Then followed mackerel served with pickled vegetable, a loin of venison with parsnips, a refreshing palate cleansing sorbet and a luscious lemon drizzle cake to finish with a Muscat dessert wine. The word outstanding echoed through the room and was a fitting description of the beautiful banquet.
